Bernardo de Gregorio was born in 1963: he is Brazilian and lives in São Paulo . Bernardo is psychiatrist (MD) and works as psychotherapist (Jung), Mythology and Philosophy professor and Theater Director. As artist he started his carrier working with pencil over paper and acrylic over paper or canvas after his degree in Illustration in 1985, until he discovered the computer as an art tool possibility. Since 1999 he has been experiencing different methods in this art work way such as collage, “morph”, digital drawing, digital photography and digital interference.
Also know as “Mr.B”, his art works has been reaching unexpected locations all around the world. In Brazil is not uncommon to find his art in many web sites, magazines, “flyers”, books covers and even in some huge billboards during the São Paulo Gay Pride Parade, nowadays the biggest parade of this kind in the world. Bernardo has been organizing some exhibitions, “installations” and presentations and keeps by invitation a special permanent virtual gallery in Oku's Gallery ( Poland ). Bernardo is always very active and is the owner of some sites and Internet international groups specially created to increase interest about the
erotic art.
Bernardo believes in the multi media art concept and always try to group his digital images to Poetry, Theater, Dance, Music and it is easy to notice the mythological and philosophic background in his work. Angels and tritons are his most known “trade marks” and the polish artist Chris Oku once said that “they are made in Heaven”.
Together with Luiz Hernane Barros e Carvalho, Bernardo has founded and owned the night club SoGo (short for “ Sodom and Gomorrah ”) in São Paulo with a great success. The idea of binding the image of an angel to the gay scene has become a symbol. The place in fact was much more than a simple “disco”, but was also a leather bar, a theater and a cultural center with live classical and popular music presentations and “ethno” performances. The club is still there, but is no longer owned by the founders.
Bernardo works with a sort of different artist in order to realize many presentations within the multi media concept, such as Christyina Myeon (Piano), Andrea Steiof (Sax), Luiz Hernane Barros e Carvalho (Cello), Luaa Gabanini and Tatiana Lohmann (Video and Dance), Leandro Feigenblatt (Dance), Deborah Schcolnic (Poetry), Claudia Schapira (Theater and Hip-Hop), Alex Lorenzo (Performance), Osmar Rezende (Painting, Digital Art and Samba), Noélia Ipê, Bruno Vaz and Ricardo Nogueira (Photography) and others. His partnership with Marcello Blanko is particularly creative uniting digital art, “conventional” art, scenery, figurine, music and digital design.
